Fatboy Slim’s seminal debut album is remastered and re-released in limited edition on vinyl for the 25th anniversary of its original release. Featuring the global smash hits ‘Right Here, Right Now’, ‘The Rockafeller Skank’, ‘Gangster Tripping’ and ‘Praise You’, it was the first UK album to make a million sales in its first week, selling over 8 million copies worldwide. The deluxe edition features bonus tracks including rarities and remixes. A must have for fans of the iconic album.
When you think of the term “musical outreach,” you probably think of a pianist bringing their talent to a community. But for one Juilliard master’s alum, that has taken on a whole new meaning.
Kimball Gallagher founded 88 International, a nonprofit organization that fosters social inclusion through music for youth in Tunisia and Saint Martin. I had the privilege of traveling with them this summer and working with their Tunisia88 program.
Tunisia88 supports 592 after-school student-led music clubs—one in every public school in the country. They follow an annual cycle of activities, including leadership trainings for social cohesion and creativity training so that students can compose songs with their own words, melodies, messages, and videos. These clubs also create their own musical events to make a positive impact on their communities. All programs and concerts are presented with the dual belief that music cultivates respect for difference and that artists can be global citizens.
